"Waltz of the Flowers"

My Flowers

I had not raised flowers for about 25 years and
decided that this year, I would raise flowers!
We are "children of the earth" and there's
nothing more relaxing than digging and
planting and watching things grow.
Kissing the ground we walk on is a pretty good idea!

My Asian lily was a winner!  It produced 14 blossoms that lasted a couple of weeks.

The begonias just keep blooming!

Morning glory vines with blossoms in pink
(almost mauve), blue, and deep violet.

Big morning glory vine at the end of the patio.  It needs an extension at the top of the trellis!  It leans to one side from the weight of the vines.  It has beautiful blue morning glories and glorious white moon flowers (that don't photograph well).

Beautiful deep violet petunia in front of the crepe myrtle.

Yellow begonias in whiskey barrel with purple Heuchera beside it and multi-colored duck.  I love this corner!

A majestic Yellow Swallowtail butterfly that visits my butterfly bush.

A beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly that also likes the butterfly bush.

Pretty blue lisianthus, a prolific bloomer.

The crepe myrtle in full bloom.  Top of big morning glory vine in the corner.

Under the crepe myrtle after a rain.  It smells nice, but don't touch or you'll get a shower!

Moss rose in a whiskey barrel.  This is one of my favorites and they just bloom and bloom.

Violet wave petunia, with white
petunia and Gerbera daisy.

This is a red petunia that the hummingbirds love.  It got "leggy" and I cut it back.  Its coming out very nicely.

The purslane has to be one of my favorite plants.  It thrives in the rain or hot sun and keeps on blooming and blooming.

My mother always had an "old hen and little chickens" cactus and mine has done very well.  It's a bit of nostalgia for me.

Eye candy, white swan with bright red begonia.

Yellow mum with salmon-colored tips on the petals.

I was very fortunate to get a picture of the very first hummingbird that came to my feeder.  It visited my butterfly bush and I rushed to get the feeder up and just stood there with the camera until the hummingbird discovered the feeder.  I love these bright little hummers!

When all the work is done and everyone's fed, watered,
fertilized, weeded, and walked, this is what my
