Useful Links MAURICE researchers Cathy Clarke of New Zealand has a website which details her descent from Thelwall MAURICE of Marlborough. Her grandfather, Arthur Harold Montagu MAURICE emigrated to New Zeland and established yet another branch of the vast family that originated with Maurice ap Merdydd of Lloran in Denbighshire Ron Fortuna of the UK is a keen MAURICE researcher. His wife is descended from Thelwall MAURICE of Marlborough through 4 generations of Church of England vicars. Ron is particularly interested in the life of the Reverend Thomas MAURICE of the British Museum, scholar, poet and author; and Reverend Frederick Denison MAURICE, the great 19th century divine. Jo-Anne Sunbeam of New Zealand is an avid MAURICE researcher and has been invaluable in researching much of the early history of the Lloran branch of the family as described on this site. She is descended from Anne MAURICE who married George Bateman LAWLEY in London in 1754. Anne is known to have been a relative of Price MAURICE (1699-1779) and is thought to be descended from Edward MAURICE of Awelwag in Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant parish, Denbighshire. She is very keen to prove a link. Yvon Maurice of Ontario, Canada has a website that shows his descent from a French immigrant to Canada, Maurice ARRIVÉ. The surname ARRIVÉ quickly became LARRIVÉ, then LARRIVÉ dit MAURICE, and finally around 1850 the family dropped LARRIVÉ and became known simply as MAURICE. Other sites of interest The
