The Zhaolu D2.5 DAC represents an outstanding value in
today's audio market. It owes its excellent sonic virtues to its extreme
simplicity and robust build quality. That's why we chose it as the basis
for our line of world-class digital-to-analog converter products.
We perform the following mod package on the D2.5A DAC:
minimalist zero-feedback discrete output stage with DC-servo.
gold-plated RCA connectors.
toroidal transformer at the coaxial input.
remove the micro-controller with its oscillator to lower the noise level, starting
at version V4. Current version V4.1 slightly improves this step of the mod.
install a new elegant faceplate.
The result is the OMZ DAC, which offers stunning "speed" and detail combined with tonal accuracy
that is second to none. After a long listen you too will realize its
real strength: it presents the music in a very realistic light, with a detailed
texture but without the excess sibilance and metalic edginess we've come to
accept as part of digital. The OMZ DAC just "sings music".
Note: In order to provide better customer support and maintain a
focused business position, we decided on the following.
No mod will be available for the older version D2 After Feb/1.
We will offer updates for OMZ/D2.5 units to V4.1 (with or without the
headphone amplifier option) for a limited time only. If you planned
on upgrading your OMZ unit then please contact us asap.
This will not affect the warranty on existing OMZ units.
