Lyra was born on May 19, 1999 and was registered as KisNTel’s Lyra Z of Chotovotka. When it came time to name her, there were so many people with "fingers in the pot" (had something to do with the producing of the litter she came from) that wanted kennel names on her that something had to give. As it was, we left out her co-owners/co-breeders’ (Shawn & Amy Sparks) kennel name entirely, reduced ours to a "Z" and then only had 4 spaces left for a name (AKC only allows 25 letters in a name). So we got out our constellation/star list and found a nice short one – Lyra, the lyre or harp of Orpheus. The "KisNTel" part comes from her primary breeder, Jan Yates, and the Chotovotka comes from Danny & Margit Brand who also co-bred the litter. She is out of Ch. Brandon’s Sundance Kid and Ch. Innisfree’s Kadee of Texas, and therefore is a half sister to Phoenix and cousin to Lillie. She loves to give kisses and play with Lillie.

Joanne put the 10th point on Lyra at the Lawton show on October 27 2002.  The judge was Mr Vincent P Chianese.	Lyra's 9th point at the Stephenville show on June 9 2002.  The judge was Col. Joe B Purkhiser.	Lyra just got her second major by going Best of Winners at the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa, Inc. show on March 31 2002.  The judge was Mrs Loraine Boutwell.  She now has 8 points.	This picture was taken just for fun.  I was wearing a bandage on my nose so we also put one on Lyra and on the judge (Mrs Jan Cowan Sigler).  Thanks Jan for playing along!
Lyra just got her first points in a big way!  She took best of winners at the Siberian Husky Club of Middle Tennessee for a five point major.  The judge was Mr Delbert Thacker.	Another bitch of our's, BISS CH. Zvezda’s Juno, took Best of Breed at the same show!  Needless to say, we had a great time!	Lyra took third place in 12-18 mo. Bitches at the 2000 SHCA National Specialty.  She also took fourth place in 15-18 mo. Sweeps.	Lyra won the 9-12 puppy bitch class under Carol Nash at the Rocky Mountain Siberian Husky Club 2000 Specialty.
