Sali is a littermate to Trixie, and was "pick" of the litter. Her registered name is Ch. Kirkacha's Sali O'Zvezda. We like to pretend she was named after Sally Ride the astronaut, but in reality Mickey had a superstition that she won more with dogs whose names had 4 letters, started with "S" or "T", and ended in "I". She went to live with Mickey Zinger when she was 12 weeks old, but came back to live with us when Mickey was diagnosed with cancer in May of 1992. Sali is our first home-bred champion, who finished her championship in April of 1994. She was bred once and had one puppy, who tragically died at the age of 8 weeks. Sali ran next to Trixie on our team for several years, and is now spayed and retired to the yard. She loves to ride in the van and play with the cows next door. But her very favorite activity of all is eating – she has to lick all the bowls once everyone has finished eating!
